The procedure is performed under general or local anaesthesia depending on the areas to be aspirated. The wearing of a girdle or a support panty will be necessary day and night for the first 6 weeks.
Whatever the surgery, recovery is generally as follows:

• The 3 days after
  Swelling and bruising may occur. To minimise the discomfort this may produce, Dr Ballieux prescribes oral analgesics to patients.
• The first postoperative consultation
  It is necessary to consult the practitioner 2-3 days after the operation
• Resuming work and activities requiring physical effort
  Patients usually resume their daily activities 1 week after the operation. However, activities requiring physical effort are not recommended for 1 to 2 months.

Whatever the type of surgery you have, possible complications are possible. Bruising, bleeding or swelling may occur.

There is evidence that smoking can lead to complications in healing during surgery. We therefore advise avoiding smoking for 4 weeks beforehand.

Each patient is different. We cannot define a fixed price for our operations. Different elements enter into the calculation of the budget to be foreseen, such as the surgeon’s fees, the costs related to a hospitalization, the cost of an implant, the follow-up. The basic price for this type of surgery starts from 2500 euros for a procedure under local anaesthesia.
